Architecture Back to natureThis fourth issue of the already award winning magazine 91º focuses on interpreting today’s megatrend of returning to nature. 91° aspires to explore the role of nature in architecture from various perspectives. Due to a unique visual design and a strong creative concept the magazine is once again nominated for a prestigious and renowned design award - the DESIGNPREIS DEUTSCHLAND 2010 also known as the »Prize of Prizes«, since no other design award sets such strict criteria on entries. The end-result of this issue is a journey with hand-picked architects, who open up to an inspiring and captivating world of green possibilities - and as always you will get more than architecture. |

![]() What to expect?"Plants and Architecture" - under this title, the Japanese architect Junya Ishigami presents one of his impressive drawings, where the architectural appearance is so close to nature that the differences disappear. The personal relationship between architects and nature is also illustrated through Jean-Philippe Vassal’s orchid cultivation. Furthermore, 91º visits Benedetta Tagliabue in her fascinating townhouse in the oldest part of Barcelona’s old town. The famous landscape architect Martha Schwartz met 91º in London, where she told us about her own personal desire: a landscape park in Nevada for the revitalisation of abandoned gold mines. Moreover, issue 4 has made the interesting realisation of the diversity of fibre cement, including projects by the architects Blue Scope (Germany), Jager Jassen (Netherlands), Adolf Krischanitz (Austria), Katja Nagy (Austria), Riegler Riewe (Austria) , Schluder and Nikoljski (Austria) and Vest A/S (Denmark). New facade boards inspired by nature for urban settingsA harmonic relationship between man-made buildings and nature is not self-evident. Thus, building material manufacturers and architects have to actively incorporate and accentuate the aesthetics of nature into their products. At Cembrit, we do our utmost to spot long-lasting tendencies within the building industry and subsequently innovate on our products to ensure that they always support contemporary distinct design. As a response to the craving towards the realm of nature, Cembrit has developed a new product range of facade boards called URBANNATURE. URBANNATURE seeks to address the paradox created by the clash of the vast urbanisation and the urge for returning to the pure and natural. Through a cohesive collection of colours ranging from warm earthly to bright and clear colours combined with glossy or structured surfaces, you find expressions, which at one and the same time challenge and supplement each other.
